Guest Information

As a Member-owned private club, use of River Bend Club is reserved exclusively for River Bend Club Members and their guests. We look forward to making your visit to River Bend Club an enjoyable one. Below, you will find some guidelines and courtesies to assist you in planning a comfortable visit.

  • Clubhouse / Dining
    • Guest are welcome to dine at the Club while accompanied by a River Bend member.

      Dress Code

      General Clubhouse Dress Code - For other Clubhouse areas not specifically mentioned elsewhere, proper attire should be consistent with the “Smart Casual” or golf or tennis attire described above.

      • Golf and tennis hats and golf shoes are acceptable within the Men’s and Ladies’ Locker Rooms, and the adjacent hallways only; they should otherwise be removed prior to entry to the other parts of the Clubhouse, including the Bar.
      • Players that have just completed golf, tennis, or other strenuous activity are requested to change into fresh clothing to use any areas of the Clubhouse other than the Men’s and Ladies’ Locker Rooms or the Bar.

      Special Dining Events and Formal Dining - For holiday or special dining events such as Easter, Mother’s Day, Thanksgiving, the Holiday Brunch, and for the Radius and Potomac rooms whenever such rooms are set aside for formal dining, the proper attire is “Jacket Preferred.” Events which are to be designated “Jacket Required” will note this requirement on the event invitations to Members.

      Unacceptable Attire - With the exception of within the Men’s and Ladies’ Locker Rooms, the following dress or clothing items are not acceptable anywhere in the Clubhouse: bare or stocking feet, tee shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, workout gear, gym shorts, worn or torn denim jeans, cut-off shorts, halters or other midriff-baring tops, soiled clothing, flip flops, shower shoes and bathing suits.

      Cell Phone & Electronics Policy

      Mobile Devices—Out of consideration of others, Members, their family and guests should silence all phones and electronic devices and refrain from taking calls while inside the Clubhouse or in the outside dining areas, except for within the Men’s or Ladies’ Locker Rooms. The use of mobile phones and other devices for texting, e-mail, etc., is permitted provided the device is placed into “vibrate or “silent” mode.

  • Golf
    • Golf Dress Code

      Permissible attire on the golf course and all practice areas is set out in the Golf Rules and includes golf slacks or Bermuda style shorts and a collared shirt or mock turtleneck for adult and youth males, and comparable, appropriate ladies golf attire for adult and youth females. Shirttails must be tucked in at all times.

  • Racquets
    • Guests may use the courts only when accompanied by a River Bend Member. 

      Racquets Dress Code

      Permissible attire for the tennis facility is set out in the Tennis Rules; all adult males and junior males must wear a collared or tennis approved shirt (no sleeveless shirts allowed) along with appropriate shorts, and all women and junior women must wear appropriate tennis attire.

  • Fitness
    • Guests are welcome to the Fitness Center while accompanied by a River Bend Member. A fee of $10 per guest will be charged to the Member.

      Fitness Center Dress Code

      Conventional exercise attire is required. Shirts must be worn at all times. Midriff-baring shirts and undergarments worn as outer garments are not allowed.

      • Low-rise shorts and low-rise pants are not acceptable.
      • Shoes and socks are to be worn at all times while using the weights or exercise machines.

      Children in the Fitness Center

      • Children under the age of 12 may only use the Fitness Center facilities under full-time and direct supervision of a parent.
      • Children ages 12-15 may only use the Fitness Center facilities under the full-time and direct supervision of a parent.
      • Juniors under the age of 21 and their guests must yield equipment to adult members at all times.
      • No one under the age of 16 may bring guests.
  • Aquatics
    • Pool Facility Rules & Regulations

      • Entrance is only permitted through the front doors of the pool facility
      • All members & their guests must be registered at check-in desk before entry
      • The guest fee is $10 per guest.
      • Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Children 12-16 years of age must pass a swim test and have a completed and signed medical emergency form on file to be at the pool without adult supervision.
      • Swim test consists of swimming 50m and then immediately treading water for 1 minute
      • Coolers, outside food & outside beverages are not permitted at the facility; all food & drinks must be purchased from the club
      • Pets are not allowed at the facility
      • Food and drinks must remain in designated areas; no drinking or eating in the pool
      • Bar seating and bar area are for those 21 and over
      • Smoking is prohibited in all areas of facility Excess belongings must be stored in lockers; please do not leave items on tables once you leave the table

      Pool Rules

      • Appropriate swimwear must be worn at all times while swimming
      • No diving in water less than 5 feet; no running from beach area into the pool; no walking, sitting or standing on the interior pool wall
      • No running, horseplay, profanity, abusive language/ behavior, spitting or drinking pool water
      • Soft, nerf type balls are allowed; tennis balls are not allowed at the pool facility. Water guns must be used in grass area only and with the permission of the Pool Manager
      • Wading Pool is for children 10 and under; an adult must be within the enclosure at all times when children are present; no lifeguard is at the wading pool
      • Children wearing floatation devices must be within arms reach of their guardian; no rafts are allowed
      • Diapers: Children are required to have both a commercial swim diaper and a rubber or plastic cover to be allowed in the pools. Diapers must be changed at designated diaper stations in the locker rooms.
      • Lap lanes are for exercise and lap swimmers; do not disrupt lap swimmers and no hanging on lane lines
      • Only adults may use masks, fins or exercise equipment; use is limited to lap lanes
      • Water basketball height adjustments are made by staff only, no hanging on rim, no dunking the basketball by jumping into pool from the deck, rough play is prohibited

      Diving/Slide Area Rules

      • Only one person allowed on the diving board or slide at a time
      • Only one person is permitted to slide down the slide at a time
      • Only one bounce is permitted on the diving board
      • No sitting on the boards
      • Jump facing forward off the board and swim to the ladder
      • After sliding down the slide, swimmer must swim tot he ladder closest to the slide
      • Diver or slider must wait for the previous diver or slider to exit the water before diving or sliding
      • Slider must always have backside against the slide - no face first, standing, squatting or kneeling down the slide
      • No fins or floatation devices are allowed on the diving board
      • No toys are allowed in the diving well and no balls may be thrown at divers
      • Swimmers must be able to swim unassisted to the ladder; parents may not catch or aid children
      • Swimmers 8 and under must pass a swim test in order to use the diving board
      • No child 8 or under may swim or play in the diving well

      Swim Test

      Children ages 12-16 must pass a swim test (and have an emergency contact form on file) to be at the pool without an adult. Swimmers 8 and under must pass a swim test in order to use the diving board. A swim test consists of swimming 50m and then immediately treading water for 1 minute. Parents of the child must request the swim test from the Lifeguard Manager at the pool.
